SC BLUE HEAT FC PARTNERS WITH SCV FOOD PANTRY

Second season competition begins on May 22

Santa Clarita, CA – May 12, 2011 – The Santa Clarita Blue Heat FC is kicking off its second
season of competition by partnering with the SCV Food Pantry to collect food donations from
the community at all home games as well as participating at other food donation events
throughout the Santa Clarita Valley during their upcoming season.

Founded in 2008, the SC Blue Heat FC is a professional women’s soccer team based in the Santa
Clarita Valley competing in the prestigious United Soccer League’s (USL) Western Conference
for the second season. The USL W-League has been rated second best in the world, second
only to the Women’s Professional Soccer League (WPS).

“Our local and international players are proud to represent the Santa Clarita Valley and to
especially give back to the community who so solidly supported the team during its first
season,” said Blue Heat owner, Carlos Marroquin.

On Saturday, May 14, several Blue Heat players will be participating in the National Association
of Letter Carriers “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive” from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Creekside Post
Office on McBean/Creekside Road.

In addition, targeted food donations will be accepted at all home games in exchange for entry to the game. At the Blue Heat’s inaugural game on Sunday May 22, spectators may bring four (4) boxes of macaroni and cheese for one admission at Valencia High School. Game time is 7:00 pm.
