BLUE HEAT TO FACE PALI BLUES THURSDAY

Second game is first of a two-game local road trip

Santa Clarita, Calif. (May 25, 2011) Eager to capitalize on the momentum from a late game-winning goal on Sunday against the Victoria Highlanders, the Santa Clarita Blue Heat will face a tough Pali Blues team on Thursday night at Palisades High School at 7 p.m.

The Blues are also coming off of a 2-1 win against the Highlanders, and are undefeated after two games in the books.

This is only the second game for the Blue Heat, who will kick off a brief local road trip against Pali on Thursday and the LA Strikers on Sunday before returning home to face the Seattle Sounders on June 3.

Thursday’s game will be the first in a Blue Heat uniform for Portuguese National Team Captain Edite Fernandes and Guatamalen National Team player Shannon Brooks. With those additions, which should boost a team that got strong performances from last week’s goal scorers Hannah Beard and Liz Franco, the Blue Heat are hopeful for a positive result against the 2008 and 2009 W-League champions.
