Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Santa Clarita Blue Heat will hit the road this Saturday as they travel to take on newcomers Bay Area Breeze in their W-League season opener.

Owner Carlos Marroquin has tapped Tony Rodwell to fill the role of head coach for the 2013 season. Rodwell has combined his professional playing and coaching career to build a team capable of reliving its 2011 success of W-league Western Conference regular season champions.

The Blue Heat are more than prepared to repeat their success of two years ago with a deep roster that will feature a heavy international presence combining players from Mexico, Portugal, Australia and England. These experienced players along with homegrown talent bring about a squad to be reckoned with, not just in the conference, but in the league as well.

The Blue Heat will take the field at 7 p.m. this Saturday at Kezar Stadium against the Bay Area Breeze. For more information please visit www.scblueheat.com
